The fog, oh the fog

February 7, 2006

My brain has been foggy and tired all day. I can barely get a thought out of my head. Copious amounts of caffeine have done nothing to remedy this fact.

I blame cowboys, vodka, curious jukebox selections, and the fact that I missed my run this morning.

Nano conspiracy count for this morning’s commute:
18 total songs
~2 from Sarah
~1 from U2
~0 from Aerosmith
That’s 17% of conspiracy domination over my listening enjoyment

UPDATE 8:01 PM
It’s 8pm and I am still debating whether or not to go out for my run. This is not a good sign.

Do not blame the cowboys – blame The Google. The Google will get you. The Google is trying to make all of our brains foggy so that every time we have a question, we ask The Google. And then, at the height of our reliance on The Google, it will turn on us, just like in the Terminator movies.

Besides, if contemporary cinema is any indication, cowboys are only interested in other cowboys these days.

“Vodka I wish I knew how to quit yew!!!”

I see a possible Photo Shop manifestation of The Google logo as some sort of earth-eating machine coming out of this comment 😉

I love The Vodka. And no, I can’t quit it. Much like gay love. Wha? Er. Nevermind.

I love your current lyrics. Chicago rocks!

So why don’t you just delete the Sarah,U2 and Aerosmith?

I know the longer I debate the workout, the less likely I am to do it. I hope you did it anyway!

And yes, my ipod shuffles the same songs over and over. I can’t take it and it is incredibly frustrating. I never use that feature now.

Debating going to run at 8:00. Wow, I have been at work for an hour already. I need your schedule.
As for your Nano, I will trade your Nano for my Mini. It may give you similar groupings, but it is easier to rant about older technology. Funny how less than a year old is OLDER Technology.

I can’t get over how perfectly phonetically spelled Travis’ Brokeback Vodka Trail quote is. It’s going to sink in and surface at my next ‘5 too many martinis’ evening out and the remark will be greeted by a couple blank faces. Good stuff.

I’m curious about what other artists are on your Nano? Did you quit all R&B and hip hop altogether?

How did you blog at 8pm?

anon: the issue is over the shuffle function and that it appears not to be evenly distributing the play. It ought to be entirely random, but it appears to favor certain artists over others just by the numbers.

I’m a fan of workout buddies. They make you work out. I would not make it to yoga if it weren’t for AB in my office. The gym is easier, but then, it’s filled with dudes, hehe.

RC – That song popped up on the Nano the other night while I was walking home, anyone who may have seen me walking down the street that evening may have taken me for a hooker with the strut I had…well, a businessy-dressed hooker anyway.

Anon- But I like the songs! I just wish I didn’t have to hear them every freaking day w/o having to manually skip over them

Sharky – Me too, it’s never a good sign to debate that long. But I went. And it was super.

Chanuck – 8pm…not 8am. I was still debating at 8pm if I should go out for a run. My morning runs usually take place at about 6:30 am, I’d be in 7th heaven if I had the option of running at 8am and THEN heading to work. I am not a morning person.

Claudette – Oh yew, yew’re so cute! Nah, not given up on it, I have the gamut on the Nano. I got a little Jay-Z, Ludacris, Kanye, Missy and the like but sittin’ right next to Faith Hill, Socialburn, Norah Jones, and Kelly Clarkson 🙂 Call me schizo?

i-66 – Do I admit that I was working until 7:45pm last night?

Roar – No one I know wants to workout like I do, so I am usually left to my own devices. Thank god I normally don’t have motivation issues. I did go for that run last night. But I did not make it to yoga last week because I don’t have a yoga buddy in my office anymore 😦 … why is it so hard to go to yoga by yourself?

Cuz it’s freakin’ painful sometimes, lol!

I think my playlist would be crazy too, Clussy’s too, she has the biggest variety of taste when it comes to music. BTW Cluss, the girls love the cd from lunch and now I am getting all kinds of looks from the latino brothers
