a new toy
So as I briefly mentioned yesterday, I got a new toy. The 30GB video iPod. Excuse me while I twirl around and emit high-pitched girl noises.
Ok.
This iPod here replaces my lost nano that I loved ever so much and at times would clearly demonstrate to me that it had a mind of it’s own.
The video iPod is way more than I need. It is also much cooler, much larger and much, much cooler (did I say that it was cooler?). With the nano, I mainly used it for working out at the gym, while running, commuting and traveling. The nano was more than sufficient for my needs.
Now, with 30GB at my disposal, I don’t know what to do! I’ve loaded most of the music I own on to it already, beefed up my podcast subscriptions, loaded a small handful of photos to test things out, added my address book and I still have over 20GB available! Not being especially tech savvy, I don’t know what else to throw on there. I know when I travel I will load a movie or some television shows, but for everyday use I just won’t need that.
So suggest stuff! Please! If you had (or have) a 30GB at your fingertips, what would you use it for? Any cool iPod stuff out there that I should most definitely have. I like free, so free an cheap suggestions will be most useful to me. Are there podcasts that you just can’t live without or are especially funny or entertaining?
Currently I have these podcasts on subscription:
~Baseball Today
~PTI
~Sports Center
~Best of YouTube
~CelebTV
Gimme whatcha got!
Porn will fill it up fast. Think of how popular you will be on the Metro!
I second the porn suggestion.
No animals though. That’s just weird.
I happily agree with porn.
But you could also go and get more music, put some regular movies on there: Wedding Crashers or Ferris Buellers….something that will pep you up when feeling down.
A video of the 2006 Ironman 😉
You’ve been tagged my dear!
Yaeh, I can’t fill my ipod to save my life. I am such a failure.
But what about a name? All iPods must be named.
I suppose if you’re really at a loss you could fill it up with NFL footage of deep passes dropped by Troy Williamson.
Actually, no. Scratch that. A 30 gig iPod isn’t big enough for all that video.
Draft day is Saturday! Woo-hoo!!!
I “own” a ridiculous amount of music, and filled up my 30GB iPod the day I got it. Now whenever I want to add albums, I have to delete some.
Anyway, as far as podcasts go, I subscribe to:
60-Second Science
New York Times Front Page (condensed into five minutes)
The Onion Radio News
The Onion News Network (Video)
The President’s Weekly Radio Address (a parody)
And a few geekier ones that you probably wouldn’t be interested in.
Another way to use your iPod is simply as storage, just like you’d use a floppy disk or a USB key.
I would totally fill it up on videos! Sadly, my iPod is not a video one, so I have video envy.
