Curious, but not really

March 26, 2007

After reading about the deep water rescue of the two young adults who fell off a Princess cruise ship yesterday, I have to wonder if I am the only who’s come to the most natural conclusion as to how it happened.

Apparently they fell 50-60 feet off a cabin balcony and “cruise line officials are trying to figure out how [the] two passengers managed to fall…into the Gulf of Mexico” (CNN).  Um. They are what, 20 and 22 years old?  On a cruise.  Hanging out on on a balcony.  Doesn’t anyone else think that they were doing it and perhaps got a little carried away?  I mean, c’mon! How else to you fall off a cruise ship?

In other non-news, I am wondering if it’s just general malaise, cabin fever, sickness residue, wanting to clean house or if I am actually “done”…

I’m going with one saying to the other “Hey, I’ll race ya to the water.”

or all coked up and thought they could fly home.

I like your conclusion better though

It’s obvious they were trying to redo that stupid fucking scene from Titanic.

There’s a lot of G.M. going around the blog world of late. I blame at least part of it on folks who’ve been doing this a while thinking too much about their audience’s taste and not enough about what really appeals to them and blows their own hair back. Write a couple posts about the Twins, baking, and Shakira’s magnificent booty and you’ll be back in the swing of things no time.

If nothing else, in a month we’ll draft Brady Quinn and then you can write about the great Quinn-Marci-Mauer Minnesota love triangle.

Blogs change over time. Who knows? What might seem like malaise right now might very well prove to be a transition when you look back on it.

Oh and just for the record people, my question of doneness has nothing to do with this forum. The light gray, italisized text that sometimes appears at the end of a post is usually non-sequitur and this time refers to a certain boy who may or may not have ties to Chicago.

I mean, who would quit blogging on their blogging birthday? It’s been two years come the end of the week.
