It’s our prerogative, we’ll do what we wanna do

June 20, 2006

I don’t need permission
Make my own decisions
That’s my prerogative
That’s my prerogative

Yes, we changed our minds again. The Buggie Banana Birthday Bonanza is no longer headed to Atlanta or Dallas—we’re keepin’ it on the ground people. Vacation is now being routed through…

…wait for it…

West Virginia!

Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West
Virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads

All the glory of inbreeding and backwoods charm, wrapped up in a mountain resort. Complete with spa treatments, kayaking, wine tasting, pool lounging and reconnecting with nature. In other words, RELAXATION.

Relax don’t do it
When you want to go to it
Relax don’t do it
When you want to come

We go to baseball games all the time, we go out all the time…what we don’t do is take time for ourselves. And the last thing we need is a vacation that warrants another vacation just to recover. We did call to confirm there is a bar on premises though. Hell, we aren’t deador stupid!

T minus 9 days, 20.5 hours and counting

    Happy…..

    HAPPY!….

    Happy….

    HAPPY!….

(if you don’t get the movie reference, then I’ll really feel like a dipshit)

I may have been singing Take Me Home, Country Roads on New Years Eve. Don’t blame me, blame the folk singer.

…and seriously, this is probably the oddest collection of lyrics I’ve seen – even on my own blog.

“This is your relaxation time, Derek!”

  6. June 20, 2006 11:08 am

    How fun!

That’s a great idea. After reading your post about going to all the other places each year, I was going to suggest something low-key and close like this. Where are you going? I have been to a few good places like that out in WVa.

Sparks and Beard – I am the one that feels like a dipshit for not getting the refs. Please, please, please enlighten me. Please.

Velvet – Funny cuz I think SHE was the one that told me to email YOU when we thought we were going to ATL.

66 – I would probably keep that little tidbit to yourself, and did you see…EJ says they have sweet tea at Tryst.

Savage – Yeah! I am not a backwoods kind of girl usually, but give me a posh lodge and a facial and I am so there!

Tyler – It’s totally in the sticks.

that sound absolutely fab-u-lous! great choice, plus when you get back you’ll be all rested to get back into the DC going out scene without needing a vacation from your vacation. woohoo!

  13. June 20, 2006 3:16 pm

Oh crap! You just did this to get out of bringing me tea, didn’t you? DIDN’T YOU?!?

  14. June 20, 2006 5:10 pm

Cluss’m – Moonshine [hiccup] you sgot it!

$ – Plus after Bug and I get back, I fly out to Minnesota to spend some time with the fam AND there may even be a few hours to visit Cub’s Fan squeezed in there as well.

Harms – I imagine it to be like our mountain get away, sans the asshole, the puking, the porn shower and the sore arms 🙂

Thanks Sparks – I don’t feel sooooo dippy, as I haven’t seen that movie.

66 – Just go to Tryst! or Chick-Fil-A! Isn’t that easier?
