I heard this is a “thing”, to post 100 things about you to mark your 100th post. Well, I was in Chicago so I missed IT. But this marks the 102nd, so like it or not, I am posting 101 random facts about me. If you get through it all, feel free to add your own “102nd Banana Fact”.
-
- I claim all professional sports allegiances to Minnesota teams that were there when I left the state (Vikings, Twins and North Stars … while I appreciate the Wild and the Timberwolves, and will root for them on occasion, I feel no responsibility towards them nor do their wins or losses affect my moods).
- I have a sort of compulsion to exercise
- My eye color matches my hair color and I think this is really cool
- I am really drawn to the color orange. It makes me feel sated somehow
- I’ve been told (by those with foot fetishes and those without) that I have really cute feet
- I love coffee, but do not have an addiction. No, really.
- I want a dog desperately
- I love handbags
- It is generally a fruitless endeavor to speak to me before 10am if you are looking for some sort of response
- I love to travel. Plane trips, car trips, train trips, boat trips…I like it all. Chances are if you are going somewhere and there is an acceptable reason for me to tag along, I will try to go with you.
- My could-be-attainable-someday dream job would be running the event operations of a pro-football team
- If I could do it all over I would consider the following professions; dessert chef, pro/amateur sports trainer, or forensic scientist
- If it paid more AND I could do it all over again, I would consider being a elementary school teacher. But I think I am slightly too materialistic to be a teacher in the real-world.
- Chicago is my favorite U.S. city
- I love to bake. Cooking is nice, but I really dig baking. If I am stressed, I’ll bake all kinds of stuff. If there is an occasion, I’ll bake. My office mates love me for this
- I tend to over-explain things
- I have only lived in two states — Minnesota and Virginia
- Favorite alcoholic beverage, Grey Goose and vodka. Actually this is an inside joke (I really tried to order that at a bar once or twice), so I do love my vodka. Actual beverage of choice would be Chopin and soda
- I don’t have to shave my legs. I mean, not that any of us *HAVE* to (screw society!), but really I don’t. Sometimes I get longish/darkish hairs and I pluck them out, but I don’t shave. My girlfriends all hate me for this. I thank my mother and her Ojibwe genes.
- I am trying to be succinct here, it’s not working…I am not so good at that
- I love frozen treats on sticks
- I am good / decent at a lot of things
- I am afraid that I will only ever be “good / decent” at many things and never really excel in any one thing
- I am a little afraid I’ll never find “the one”, but it’s not something that bothers me (much)
- It doesn’t bother me much because I tend to take a rather Buddhist attitude toward love
- I am more afraid that my quasi-Buddhist attitude is a coping mechanism rather than the deep-down truth
- I have horrible grammar skills
- I learned more about English grammar in the 8 years of Spanish I took than in my entire elementary and high school education
- I love flowers
- But, I am not a fan of roses
- I am enamored with the moon and the sky
- I am not easily offended or insulted
- I used to be extremely uptight
- I like myself a lot more now that I am more easy-going
- I crave organization, but I don’t think I am that good at it
- Some have called me a perfectionist, and I used to argue. Now I agree.
- My memory is terrible unless there is a story or a feeling attached to the thing I am trying to remember
- I am a terrible joke-teller
- But I am generally quick with a quip
- People tell me I am funny, but a lot of the time I don’t see it
- I cannot carry a tune.
- I love to sing in the car…this is the ONLY time I sing. Unless it’s “Happy Birthday”.
- I want to be a soccer mom someday. Meaning, I want to have kids who play every sport known to man and I want to be *that* mom that screams and roots and makes snide comments about the opposing team.
- I am not a fan of suburbia
- This is mostly because I hate to drive
- I am allergic to bananas
- I don’t know if I am really open-minded or too damned chicken shit to take a definitive stance on anything
- I love cheese
- Actually, I love all dairy products
- I bring my lunch with me everyday to work
- I VERY rarely eat out
- I own my own condo and that has made for a HUGE sense of accomplishment for me
- I love playing interior designer and thinking about how I’d like each room to look, but I am afraid I am sort of haphazard in my thinking.
- I like to sleep with the window open in the dead of winter
- I just hate when the bedding is “tucked in”
- I don’t get sick very often
- I have one younger brother and one younger sister
- They still live at home, I’ve been out for 11 years
- I have one living grandparent, she’s a spunky 83 and a crazy Twins fan
- I have no tattoos, although I do want one
- But I do have freckles and if I connect some of the dots I am sure I could draw something fairly interesting
- When I was little, I had a sprinkle of 5 freckles on my thigh that I used to “connect” into a house (a square with a triangle on top)
- I’ve never broken any bones other than my fingers
- My mom had to call the ambulance for me when I was 9. Since it wasn’t anything major, they gave my parents the choice of taking the ambulance to the hospital or driving me themselves. My parents scooped me up and stuck me in the station wagon and followed the ambulance to the hospital. I was sad I didn’t get to ride in it. I am still sad I didn’t get to ride in it.
- Bennigan’s was my college experience. I went to GMU. All the things you learn at college, I learned at Bennigan’s. Damn, that was a corrupt place. I wouldn’t change it for the world.
- I was the geek that liked school — all of it. 2nd grade, 10 grade, and college…I loved it all.
- I am sometimes really quiet, but I think a lot and sometimes I forget to SAY what I am thinking…
- I go through 3 pairs of running shoes per year
- For the past couple of years, my legs/feet have averaged over 800 miles/year.
- Barring future injury, I will run a marathon within a year
- I don’t own a microwave
- I haven’t had cable television in over four years, not even basic!
- I am sucker for dimples and great skin
- I frequently have trouble sleeping — I hate this, because I love sleeping
- The government’s Food Pyramid is pretty close to what I eat every day
- But I eat ALL the time, it’s almost comical how many times a day I eat.
- I don’t keep bug spray in my house, but hair product and foaming upholstery cleaner do the same job
- I sleep with a fan running at night for the white noise
- I’ve only been dumped once, but it was pretty much the suckiest thing ever
- I was diagnosed with gum disease at 30, but I beat it! Woo!
- “Poop” is funny
- Is it apparent yet that I have a pretty juvenile sense of humor?
- I put myself through college and graduated debt-free
- My wrists are pretty small, I can wrap my my thumb and pinky around with much ease
- I’ve only ever colored my hair once, and had highlights twice. Hairdressers before and after have been convinced that I color my hair on a continuous basis.
- I have TMJ
- The first piece of furniture I bought was a king size bed
- Generally speaking, I am not a fan of talking on the phone, I’d rather look at your face while speaking.
- I am prone to burning myself. Chances are, if there is something hot, I will find a way for it to sear my skin — it’s a talent really
- Favorite all-time vegetable? Spinach
- I have a “maiden name” even though I’ve never been married. My not-biological-dad adopted me when I was six and gave me his last name, it’s even on my birth certificate.
- I am SUCH a procrastinator
- I would have to say that most, if not all of my joints hyperextend. I think some call this “double jointed”, but it just means I look weird when I lock out a joint.
- I said joint
- I love kissing, it’s one of my favorite activities really
- I am extremely good with money. I’ve never really had any major debt in my life (you, know except for my mortgage). I think it comes from all those years of being really uptight.
- I’ve been told that I intimidate guys. I don’t get it.
- I cried when I got my temporary veneers, not because I was glad but because I was scared
- I love attention, but I am shy
- I am horribly self-conscious, but less so now than in the past
- I am terribly loyal, once you are ‘in” with me…it’s probably forever (The only reason I say probably is because I can think of one person that isn’t, but it’s his own damned fault)

haha, you said “eat out”…
I’ve been resisting doing a “100 things” column because…
1) I’ve written more than 100
2) I have no other real reason I can pinpoint.
I need motivation, I suppose.
Yeah, it’s rather self-serving I think to list 100 random facts about yourself. But I still did it…I wonder what THAT says about me? I think I am self-motivated 😉
So you’re saying I should do it.
You can do it!
I’ve ordered the “Grey Goose and Vodka” many, many times.
Finally, someone who can relate!
Happy 102nd. (We’re in the 90s, suppose we should start thinking about this now.)
I sleep with a fan on for the comforting noise too, and yeah I like to the leave the window open when it’s cold out. “That don’t make us bad people.”
Wow, I actually learned some things totally new, which I will talk with you about in person, considering #88.

Regarding Item 5… Well, let’s see those cute feet of yours. I happen to have a pretty intense foot fetish. So naturally your comment piqued my interest. It’s not that I have any doubts about your – and others – assessment of your tooties. I just have to see ’em. Pretty please.
On a related note… Item 63 disappointed me a bit. In addition to my foot fetish, I have a rather strange affliction: Seeing attractive women with injured feet or toes is quite the turn-on. I’m not into pain, mind you. It’s just a visual thing. A pretty woman with a foot encased in a plaster/fiberglass cast or swathed in an ace bandage is quite the turn-on.
Sincerely,
-Kevin, just another Silicon Valley hack
You guys are funny!
Wow, what an informative list! I know I am a bit late on commenting, but I thought I’d let you know I enjoyed reading it.
You interest me, I am glad to wish you happiness!
Peace and Love.
