Cherry Blossom 10-Miler ~ April 3, 2005

So I finished. Stopped 2 times to stretch out the calf, but there was no walking.  No calf pain, so maybe I am healed of that mess? Will try to start a new running regime today to see if I can get myself back on track. Was windy and cold on race day, not to mention the daylight savings time issue of moving the clocks ahead one hour. Bleh. Was exhausted yesterday, but I survived. Why is it that I make race day a crazy, over-booked mess? It was mom’s birthday and I thought I could do it all, but that almost turned out badly (but I got there in time and all went well). And for the half marathon in December, I had made breakfast plans for after the race, followed by Advent Kofee at Bug’s church and ending with a concert with Laurin and her daughter out at GMU. Geesh, I am crazy.

I AM crazy. I know this, but is anyone convinced that it makes me any saner to be aware of the situation?

Yes, I told you I am a chicken. Ask Bug, as this is a perfect testament to my personality. I would have no problems letting strangers see these thoughts/musings — but to have them there quasi-permanently for the people I love? Ack! Scary!
